About Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions

Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions is a fast-growing Defense technology company headquartered in Clearwater, Florida. Founded by US and UK veterans, Marcurius brings decades of frontline experience across Special Operations and Intelligence missions, with deep expertise in asymmetric warfare and the real-world employment of unmanned systems.

Marcurius is building a new kind of unmanned systems company – multi-domain, multi-platform, and mission-driven. We fuse battle-proven technologies, resilient command-and-control architectures, and operator-led doctrine to deliver capabilities that work in contested environments. Our initial focus is the rapid fielding of advanced Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) for modern maritime operations.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a motivated, curious, and hands-on Junior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team at Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions.

In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to develop, integrate, and test software supporting our advanced unmanned and autonomous systems. You'll contribute across a range of technologies, from software development and embedded systems to robotics, autonomy, and hardware integration.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building things, solving technical challenges, and learning new technologies. You don't need to be an expert in every area, but you should have strong programming fundamentals, a practical problem-solving mindset, and the drive to take ownership of your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain software components using Python, C++, or other relevant technologies.
  • Support software development and integration for unmanned and autonomous maritime systems.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers to solve technical challenges.
  • Contribute to embedded software development and integration with microcontrollers, sensors, and onboard systems.
  • Support robotics, autonomy, and machine learning-related development activities.
  • Assist with frontend interfaces, databases, and supporting software tools as needed.
  • Participate in hardware/software integration, prototype development, and system testing.
  • Troubleshoot software issues, investigate root causes, and implement improvements.
  • Maintain clear code documentation and follow established development and version control practices.
  • Take ownership of assigned development tasks while supporting broader engineering projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong programming fundamentals with practical experience in Python or C++.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to write, debug, and troubleshoot software through academic, personal, or professional projects.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Interest in working across software development, embedded systems, and hardware integration.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers while independently managing assigned tasks.

Recent graduates and early-career engineers with strong technical projects are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms.
  • Interest in or exposure to robotics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
  • Experience with frontend development, databases, Git, or software development tools.
  • Personal software projects, GitHub repositories, or hands-on engineering projects demonstrating technical curiosity and initiative.

Work Environment

  • Onsite engineering and integration environment.
  • Direct involvement in prototype development and system testing, including sea trials.
  • Fast-paced development cycles with aggressive timelines.
  • Close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Customer, end-user, and internal team-facing activities.
