MVP Robotics

MVP Robotics builds robotics and autonomy systems for sports training, military, and public safety, including robotic tackling dummies, live-fire targets, and autonomous ground vehicle platforms.

MVP Robotics develops robotics and autonomy systems for demanding environments, with work spanning sports training, military, and public-safety applications. The company was founded in 2013 through a collaboration between Dartmouth head football coach Buddy Teevens and engineers and athletes from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering, and it develops both hardware and autonomy capabilities in-house. Technical domains include robotics, autonomy, perception, computer vision, artificial intelligence, autonomous ground vehicles, and mechanical and electrical engineering.

Its most widely deployed product is the robotic tackling dummy, built so athletes can practice realistic tackles without exposing other players to avoidable contact. Use of the dummies has been associated with a 58% reduction in concussions compared with full-contact training. The company also builds MVP|SPRINT, a sports training robot for athletic training programs, and HEKTR, robotic targets designed for dynamic live-fire training.

Beyond sports, MVP Robotics develops autonomous ground vehicle platforms for military and public-safety applications, along with autonomy kits intended for government and third-party platforms. Customers include the United States Department of Defense and international special-operations units, as well as shooting organizations and live-fire training programs. The company is headquartered in Bradford, Vermont, USA.
