UK SME designing, prototyping, and manufacturing uncrewed aerial systems and advanced avionics, spanning micro to MALE class platforms, BVLOS operations, and systems integration.
Callen-Lenz is a UK-based uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) company founded in 2007 and headquartered near Salisbury, Wiltshire. It designs, prototypes, develops, and manufactures novel Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles, alongside advanced avionics and systems integration work. The company grew from a consultancy into a UK SME and operates across four strands: technical services, products, platforms, and operational services, serving both defence and civilian applications.
The platform range spans micro to MALE class UAS, including the Koios, Fregata, and Nyan platforms, plus market-leading avionics systems offered alongside them. Technical domains cover UAS design and development, advanced avionics, systems integration, prototyping and manufacture, Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, secure design for contested environments, and testing and support. Callen-Lenz reports having pioneered BVLOS operations and maintains an operational track record of solutions proven in the field.
In 2024 the company was acquired by BAE Systems FalconWorks. Sovereign UK capabilities are maintained post-acquisition. Engineering work spans the hardware/software boundary across avionics, airframes from micro to MALE class, and integration into operational use, including operations under BVLOS constraints and in contested environments.
