Trexo Robotics is enabling mobility by building powered wearable robots. Our first product is a robot for children with movement disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, and it allows kids to walk, in many cases, for the first time in their lives. About the Job
We are looking for a Robotics Software Developer intern to continue the development of new features across our robotics software stack and infrastructure.
You will work on designing and developing new features with a focus on long-term reliability while fixing existing bugs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with controls, real-time Linux, and C/C++/Python.
This position is hybrid (3 days onsite) at our office in Mississauga.
What you'll do
Develop software in C/C++/Python for our robotics software stack.
Fix software bugs and participate in code reviews.
Improve our infrastructure software (Trexo updater software, CI/CD, Linux operating system).
Required Skills
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Extensive experience developing software in C/C++ and Python.
Hands of experience developing software running in Linux environment.
Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency and real time safe software development.
Interest in exoskeletons.
Nice to Have
Experience reading PCB schematics and PCBA troubleshooting.
Hands on experience modifying/building Linux kernels.
Experience working with Rust.
Experience with control systems.
Experience with Go
Additional information
This position is a 4-month work term from January 11, 2027, to April 30, 2027. We are also open to offering an 8-month or 12-month internship. If you are interested in a longer work term, please indicate this in your application.
