About the Role

Were looking for a Robotics Research Scientist who blends frontier research curiosity with engineering discipline. Youll work at the core of our research efforts, training state-of-the-art locomotion algorithms, integrating sensor arrays, processing large amounts of multi-modal data from our numerous robots. Your research is meant to make an impact in the real world.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a highly interdisciplinary environment, understands how to explain their domain knowledge to an intelligent but uninformed audience.

What Youll Do

  • Apply state-of-the-art research to real-life applications
  • Invent solutions to novel challenges that arise from deploying robots outside a lab
  • Design hardware requirements in conjunction with research problems

You Should Have

  • Expertise in a domain related or transferable to robotics
  • The willingness to get your hands dirty with the difficult work of deploying your research
  • A curious mind and a passion for publishing good high impact research

Bonus Points For

  • Experience or Education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with TorchScript, ONNX, or custom inference runtimes
  • Contributions to PyTorch or open-source ML tooling
  • Experience working on transformer models, diffusion models, or large-scale vision/NLP tasks
  • Familiarity with the drawbacks and limitations of ROS/ROS2
  • A history of making deep contributions across varied disciplines
