Outsight develops hardware-agnostic Spatial AI software that converts raw 3D LiDAR data into real-time, anonymous tracking and analytics of people and vehicles for transportation hubs and industrial sites.
Outsight builds Spatial AI software that turns raw 3D LiDAR data into real-time tracking and analytics for people and vehicles. The stack is hardware-agnostic: the platform ingests point clouds from major LiDAR manufacturers including Ouster, Velodyne, Robosense, Innoviz, and Hesai, so perception work is not tied to a single sensor vendor or a fixed mounting geometry. The company's stated design goal is plug-and-play deployment on existing sensor infrastructure in transportation hubs and industrial facilities.
Two products sit on top of the Spatial Intelligence platform. Shift Perception is the real-time 3D perception layer that tracks and digitizes the motion of people and vehicles. Shift Analytics couples that real-time 3D processing with business analytics for operational decisions - passenger flow, queueing, and safety metrics rather than vehicle control. A notable constraint the design embraces: LiDAR data collection is inherently anonymous at the sensing layer, which removes the identity-handling and retention problems typical of camera-based monitoring.
Deployment experience includes passenger flow monitoring at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle Airport. Target verticals extend across airports, rail stations, industrial facilities, smart intersections, and roadside infrastructure for automated driving. Engineering themes in the work are real-time 3D processing under multi-vendor sensor variation, motion tracking of heterogeneous objects (pedestrians alongside vehicles), and keeping perception outputs interpretable for downstream analytics rather than for closed-loop actuation.
