Shield AI

We are Shield AI, a US based defense technology company founded in 2015 to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems. We design and deploy autonomous mission systems for aircraft and unmanned platforms, built around our Hivemind autonomy backbone and a family of mission ready software and hardware modules. Our products include X-BAT and V-BAT aircraft, Hivemind Enterprise, ViDAR and other capabilities built to operate in GPS and comms denied environments. We develop EdgeOS, Pilot, Forge and Commander to enable rapid development, testing and deployment of resilient autonomy across domains. Our approach is aircraft agnostic, battle tested, and focused on human directable autonomy that can scale across platforms and theaters of operation. Our team emphasizes servant leadership and a mission first mindset. Since founding we have grown to over a thousand teammates with offices across the United States and internationally, and we continue to invest in building safe reliable autonomy for the modern battlefield. We collaborate with allies to advance AI pilots powering a safer world, aiming to reduce risk to service members while enhancing decision making and effectiveness in complex environments. Voortman Steel Group

Voortman Steel Group designs and manufactures high-end CNC steel processing machines with integrated business software for steel fabricators and manufacturers worldwide. The company's product portfolio includes beam processing machines, robotic fitting and welding systems, and CNC solutions that combine hardware automation with production optimization software. These integrated systems are engineered to automate workflow and optimize production processes directly at the machine level, addressing the coordination challenges between mechanical processing and production planning that typically exist in steel fabrication operations. The company's technical approach centers on developing purpose-built machinery for steel processing applications, with control software that handles both machine operation and broader production workflow. This architecture allows fabricators to manage cutting, drilling, fitting, and welding operations through unified systems rather than discrete machines with separate control interfaces. The robotic fitting and welding systems represent the company's extension into automated assembly processes beyond traditional subtractive machining operations. With over 55 years in the steel processing machinery sector, Voortman operates with a team of approximately 750 employees and maintains presence across Europe, the Americas, and additional international markets. The company is led by CEO Mark Voortman and headquartered in the Netherlands. Their customer base consists primarily of steel fabrication shops and manufacturing facilities requiring CNC automation for structural steel components and related products.

Ellison Institute of Technology

We’re building a new kind of scientific institute that brings together world-class researchers, engineers, and innovators to tackle some of humanity’s most persistent problems. Founded by Larry Ellison, EIT focuses on four critical areas: health and medical science, food security and sustainable agriculture, climate change, and artificial intelligence & robotics. Our Oxford campus, designed by Foster + Partners and set for completion in 2027, will house state-of-the-art laboratories and collaborative spaces where breakthrough discoveries can move from lab to real-world application. What makes us different is how we combine fundamental research with practical solutions. We don’t just publish papers - we build technologies, launch products, and create platforms that actually address global challenges. Through our Ellison Scholars program, we fully fund exceptional students at Oxford University, nurturing the next generation of scientific leaders. We work closely with Oracle and other partners to leverage cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities at scale. Our team includes pioneering scientists like Sir John Bell, along with experts in machine learning, genomics, and engineering, all working together across traditional disciplinary boundaries.

Stark Defence

We are a technology-driven defence company founded in 2024 in response to critical operational demands highlighted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Our team specializes in developing unmanned systems across multiple domains, including our flagship OWE-V Virtus loitering munition, Minerva mission control software, and Vanta unmanned surface vessels. We work directly with operators on the battlefield to ensure our systems meet real-world needs, because that is the only way to know they will work when it matters most. Our mission is clear: delivering the systems that Europe and NATO need now, not years down the line. We test our equipment in actual combat conditions and have deployed systems in Ukraine against various ground and strategic targets. From our headquarters in Berlin to our new production facility in Swindon, UK, we are building European defence capability at the pace required by today's security challenges, with contracts already secured from the German Bundeswehr and other NATO partners.

ZF

ZF Friedrichshafen AG

ZF Friedrichshafen AG operates 161 production locations across 30 countries, developing mobility systems spanning driveline and chassis technology, active and passive safety systems, and electrified powertrains for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and industrial applications. Founded in 1915 as a gear specialist, the company employs approximately 161,600 people and reported €41.4 billion in sales for fiscal year 2024. Current technical development centers on software-defined vehicle architectures, including the Chassis 2.0 concept that integrates chassis control with vehicle software layers, and autonomous driving systems deployed in production vehicles. The company's engineering work addresses hardware-software integration challenges in electrified powertrains and safety systems that must meet ISO 21434 and UN R155 requirements for cybersecurity in deployed vehicles. Production engineering teams use digital twin implementations to optimize manufacturing processes across global facilities. Materials engineering includes active polymer recycling projects developed in partnership with companies like BASF, targeting sustainable component manufacturing at scale. Technical operations span established domains - driveline components, chassis systems, crash protection mechanisms - alongside newer development in perception systems for driver assistance and full autonomy. The engineering organization works within SAP-based ERP systems and cloud infrastructure, with recent integration of generative AI tools into development workflows. Projects balance production-proven mechanical systems with emerging software-centric architectures as vehicles transition from hardware-defined to software-defined platforms.
